Both José and Leticia were born in Jalisco, Mexico.

They have lived in Bloomington since 1996.

They opened La Torre restaurant on the east side by the College Mall and on the west side by State Road 37.

Why did you move to the United States?

“Our main motive for returning to the United States was the education of our children. Then imagine everything just coming together, we arrived looking for the best education for our children and by coincidence we arrived in the perfect place. It was like Bloomington was waiting for us in regards to both the business and for the education of our children…everything just came together perfectly.”

What would people be surprised to know about you?

José—“About me, well that I had to learn Spanish again…when speaking English I have a Mexican accent…but when I came to Chicago from Mexico I spoke English and I lost my Spanish…so when I returned to Mexico I had to learn to speak Spanish again.”
