Sara was born Bloomington, Indiana.

She attends Bloomington South High School, and is a member of Student Council, Spanish Club, Vice President of her class, and is on her class advisory board.

Growing up not speaking Spanish

“Well, everyone in my family speaks Spanish, but they speak English as well, and when we go up there (Northwest Indiana) a lot of people speak Spanish but to me they also speak English. And hearing it I never really made an effort to understand because everyone would tell me what they were saying. I kind of regret that now, but I’m learning the language.”
